How Contractors Become Qualified
Contractors interested in becoming a Tanner Flowers Qualified Installer must complete a structured qualification process designed to ensure that installers listed under this designation consistently demonstrate high-quality crawl space encapsulation work.
Step 1 — Complete the Training Curriculum
To begin the qualification process, at least one responsible representative of the contractor or company must complete the Tanner Flowers Crawl Space Encapsulation Training curriculum.
Training may be completed through the official online training program or through direct in-person instruction from Tanner Flowers.
Completion of the training curriculum is the first requirement for qualification, but it does not by itself grant the Tanner Flowers Qualified Installer designation.
For companies operating multiple crews or locations, completion of the training represents the organization’s commitment to implementing the Tanner Flowers crawl space encapsulation system across its installation practices.
After completing the training curriculum, the contractor or company may proceed to the project submission stage of the qualification process.
Step 2 — Submit Completed Projects for Review
After completing the training curriculum, the contractor or company must submit three completed crawl space encapsulation projects for review. These projects must demonstrate installation execution consistent with the Tanner Flowers Integrity Standard.
Submitted projects must clearly show proper installation practices including:
• Crawl space drainage resolution when required
• Proper vapor barrier layering
• Clean seam taping and wall termination
• Fully wrapped piers
• Proper dehumidifier installation and condensate routing
• Clean, disciplined system presentation
All submitted projects are personally reviewed to verify that the work meets the required installation standards.
Step 3 — Apply for Qualified Installer Licensing
Contractors or companies whose submitted projects demonstrate consistent execution may apply to become a Tanner Flowers Qualified Installer.
The application process includes a licensing agreement that allows the contractor to operate under the Tanner Flowers Qualified Installer designation.
An initial licensing fee applies once an application is approved. This licensing supports administration of the program, maintenance of the installer directory, and protection of the integrity of the designation.
Only contractors or companies who successfully meet the qualification requirements and agree to the licensing terms may operate under the Tanner Flowers Qualified Installer designation.
