I get asked often, "Do all crawl space encapsulations need a drainage system as well?"
That answer is, "No."

I only sell a homeowner a drainage service, whenever a drainage service is needed. Once someone is properly trained on what to look for during inspections, they can accurately identify problematic areas within any crawl space, and on the ones they witness standing water signs, even whenever there is no standing water present, they will upsell the drainage system.

Understand, whatever crawl space, it might not get standing water inside of it but maybe once or twice a year, during the heaviest rains. But that's one or two times a year you'll have a flooded crawl space, if you have an encapsulation, without a drainage system in place to eradicate said issues.

But if there are no signs of standing water occurring, then I will not upsell the drainage system, unless a homeowner is adamant that they want one. And if they want one, I will sell them one. But I don't do it out of just price gouging them!
