I have a young business owner currently asking me some questions.

As a child, all I ever heard was,

"Tanner you ask too many questions."

And, "Tanner you don't ask people that!"

But I never understood someone shutting down my curiosity! It makes me so angry right now just reflecting back on it!

You know why it pissed me off as a child, because I was genuinely interested in money and financially related conversations, but would be ridiculed upon asking someone questions, by someone else that I wasn't even talking to, because they were always too afraid to ever ask anything pertaining to potential discussion beyond their comfort zone!

Do you know how much further I would be right now in life had I been allowed to ask the questions I wanted to ask?

If you're curious enough, those in position can connect you to others with similar interests. The questions compound, therefore learning compounds, thus giving you the confidence in knowing you can excel in whatever endeavor of interest.

Before I deliver an entire sermon, the whole point of me even typing this, is because of a young business owner that is currently asking me questions, and what I just replied back to him. I am going to share it with you, in hope that it encourages someone who may be in the shoes I once wore....

"Let me tell you something, no matter if you ever spend a penny on anything I offer, the fact that you have the guts to reach to someone and ask questions, says everything to me. You're me. That is part of how I have always been since birth. Those willing to ask, they learn the most. And if they're willing to ask, while others are too scared to ever do so, not always....but usually, they're also the ones willing to put in the effort. Those who put in real action towards achieving their goals, they will surpass all the smart ones who get hung up on having to learn everything.

Anyways, you didn't ask for any of that, I'm just sharing with you my immediate thoughts after re-reading your message a second time. I should already have everything created that you need to excel as high as you desire inside of crawl space service endeavors.

I have done a lot of real estate projects. With my new inspection and estimating curriculum, that would help you as a plumber too. Not just you, but training your crew. If I began attempting to explain how easily sales have always came naturally to me, you wouldn't believe me anyways, so I just show you.

Yes, I think it's beneficial for you as a business owner, to be highly educated on whatever it is you sell. Newsflash, when I show up to any $500 consultation, 99 times out of 100, that customer cannot wait to stroke me whatever check, for whatever project, that they can get me to commit to. Why do you suppose that is?

I know why. And if you possess ANY sense, you know damn well why too. I don't play. I'm bringing the fucking A game to every commitment! And I know upon committing, that results never lie, and I gotta make certain that I over deliver on expectations.

You are currently paying for decisions you made a long time ago. Hell, you made some as a kid that are attached to your shadow today.

The results from decisions made don't always show up the next day. Some don't show the next month. And some decisions, you won't reap their bounty for a number of years.

I have always enjoyed working out. One of my favorite things is my home gym. I not only train people in business, but have likewise trained countless individuals throughout the years on how to workout. I started out a 6' 1", and weighed 155 pounds. It took me years to finally weigh 200 pounds! And I kept training, and kept lifting heavier weights, until finally, I weighted 227 pounds. I was huge! My arms were 20", and bigger than most peoples' heads. From the 155 bodyweight, to the 227 bodyweight, took me over seven years to achieve.

However, I watch many get discouraged after a few weeks of not seeing any results! They're working hard, their bodies are sore, but they're dissatisfied in the mirror, as the results just don't seem to be happening quick enough!

People react the same way towards attempted weight loss. If they decided to put in a little work, and a week later they haven't already lost x amount of pounds, they're back into the bad habits that made them fat and unhappy in the first place!

I encounter so many individuals who have decided to start their own business. No matter when that decision was, or is made, each starts at different point in the learning curve. Each person possesses different gifts and qualities that will advance them in their learning curve, depending on what those gifts are.

Amongst the most valuable of all, is having decided a long time ago, way before you ever heard about me, that you were going to be a person of integrity, that always does their best to do people right, and purposely brings good energy to others, thus more people naturally like you. The more people like you, the more valuable you will become.

Your network is your net worth. Once you understand this, you will be forever adding to your network, thus forever raising your net worth.

How?

The more people you have decided to make like you, the more opportunities will arise for you to put your integrity on display, creating the desired results each opportunity expected of you. These results will lead to more opportunities, as your current network spreads into other networks. This is a repetitive cycle of events, all created from good decisions.

So yes, you are paying today for decisions you made in the past. If you are happy and content, congratulations. Keep doing what you've been doing.

If your decisions haven't gotten you the results you desire, and you believe you are capable of achieving better results for yourself, then your decisions need to change today. Not tomorrow! Not whenever you feel like it's convenient!

To anyone interested in making the decision to advance their results further, I encourage you to have at least one conversation with me. Sometimes, you have to borrow someone else's belief in you, in order to create your own. And there's nothing wrong with that!

There's levels to business.

When someone first starts their own business, everything has to be managed by them: getting your state's business licensing, getting your liability insurance, designing and purchasing your company's paperwork (contracts, forms, etc.), purchasing the required tools, arranging everything inside your work vehicle / rolling office, you have to become a full time marketer, you are the salesman, you are the installer, you are the maintenance team, you are the secretary, you are the chief financial officer, you are a collection agency, and you have to learn how to be your own non-licensed tax professional.

Somewhere in between all of this, unless you plan on working yourself to death, which is not what I'm going to teach you to do, you have to learn how to hire help. Now that you're a human resources agent, you also get to be the company trainer. And whenever someone fails to uphold their commitments, you have to be the terminator.

Once you're finally able to manage everything mentioned thus far, and you're making more money than you've ever made in your life, more than all your buddies, you have to learn to become a financial planner, as your home services business is a stream of income, and by this point, you will have learned the hard way, that to be truly successful, a person needs multiple streams of income!

That's when you entertain more service offerings under your existing banner, purchase trainings for your teams, and learn how to implement proven systems, giving you the ability to scale.

Now that you have multiple streams of income, you have to learn the difference in good debt and bad debt, and how to put your money to work for you. The sooner you learn this piece of the puzzle, the sooner you will have options.

My students keep hitting me up with questions on the fly. So far, I haven't been stumped yet!

Each time I help them out of their current bind, I'll say to my wife, "Do you know how valuable it is having someone that you can touch base with, whenever you encounter issues that you are unsure how to resolve, and they are able to provide you with that information quickly?"

Without access to that, how many times have YOU been stuck thinking! Thinking's cool, but thinking don't get shit done! You have to be making progress!

Successful people make decisions fast, and they change their minds slowly. Normal people make decisions slowly, and change their minds fast.

There may come a time you ask me something, and I genuinely don't know the answer. If that's ever the case, watch how fast I tell you, "I don't know."

I have never had an issue admitting that I didn't know the answer to something. If I don't know, then that's the damn truth! And I'm notorious for telling the truth! If you like my answers, that's great! If you don't, I'll be the last person in this world to give a fuck.

Most people encountered throughout my lifetime don't always like hearing the truth. The truth often times makes us face our flaws. Not many want to admit they have any of those. But we all got them. I was once trapped within its web myself. I did everything mentally and physically possible to be like the flock. That's what I was taught. That's what the government programming wants everyone to be. So chances are, if you currently have no quarrels with mediocrity, you do not need to invest a red cent with me! Just keep your money. I don't want it.

I am actually only here for the rarities. I'm here for the ones that are sick and tired of being sick and tired! They're tired of being classified inside the same categories as all these half-ass pieces of shit. They know they're capable of more, and something inside of them gives them the desire and confidence to reach out to me. I can handle it from there.
